Alex Loeb is in his sixth year at Furman, having joined the program in July of 2013. After serving as director of game operations and marketing for four years, Loeb was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Operations and Marketing in July 2017.
In his role, Loeb is responsible for overseeing operations and marketing efforts for all athletic events on Furman's campus.
Additionally, Loeb helped lead Furman's hosting of March Madness in Grenville, serving as Assistant Tournament Manager for the 2017 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament held in the Bon Secours Wellness Arena.
Loeb came to Furman from Auburn University, where he served as an athletics event management assistant, and worked in event management at the University of Tennessee prior to that. Overlapping his work experience at both Auburn and Tennessee were championships and event assistant duties with the Southeastern Conference, specifically work with 2012 SEC Football Media Days, 2012 SEC Baseball Tournament, and 2013 SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament.
In February of 2012 he worked with the New England Patriots as a football operations travel advance assistant for Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis, Ind. He also served on NFL Host Committee volunteer teams with Super Bowl XLV in 2011 (North Texas) and Super Bowl XLVII in 2013 (New Orleans).
He also counts volunteer coordinator duties with the 2013 GoDaddy.com Bowl in Mobile, Ala., and role as bowl ambassador for the BBVA Compass Bowl, held in Birmingham, Ala., in 2013, among his work experiences.
A 2010 magna cum laude graduate of Tennessee with a bachelor of science degree in business administration and marketing, he went on earn both an M.B.A. and master’s degree in sport management, also from Tennessee, in 2011 & 2012, respectively.
Loeb is a native of Brentwood, Tenn and is married to Elizabeth Hutson Loeb. In May 2017, the couple welcomed their first child, Samuel Elliott.
