Taylor Miller has been selected as the Southern Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week, it was announced on Monday afternoon by the league office.
Miller, a freshman from Centennial, Colo., earned her first collegiate victory on Saturday in the Paladins' 5-1 triumph over Towson in the Furman Invitational at Pepsi Stadium. The righthander scattered four hits over five innings of work in her second career start and limited the Tigers to just one run. She struck out three and did not allow a walk.
In two starts as a Paladin, Miller has posted a 1-0 record and 1.75 earned run average. She has surrendered just two runs on eight hits over eight innings in the circle.
Furman is back in action on Wednesday at 5 p.m. when it travels to Columbia, S.C., to face the 18
th-ranked South Carolina Gamecocks. The matchup will be streamed live on SEC Network+.
