Ositelu Leads Paladins At ETSU

JOHNSON CITY, TENN. -- Senior Monique Ositelu placed seventh in the 800m with a time of 2:18.83 to lead the Furman indoor track and field teams in the first day of the 33rd annual Niswonger Foundation Track and Field Invitational/KTC High School Indoor Track Classic, which is being held on the David E. Walker Track in Johnson City, Tenn., this weekend.  The two-day event features over 1,500 athletes from almost 90 teams, including several teams from the Atlantic Sun, Big South, and Southern Conference.

In other women's events, senior Starr Belmont posted a time of 27.23 for 96th place in the 200m prelims, and junior Erin McChristian recorded a personal-best time of 64.07 in the 400m preliminaries, placing 100th.

Sophomore Raul Rodriquez was the only member of the Paladin men's team to compete on Friday, placing 87th in the preliminaries of the 200m with a time of 23.13 and 80th in the 60m (7.28).
