CLEMSON, S.C. -- Junior Lee Gilmer placed second with a time of 4:12.92 in the mile to lead the Furman track and field teams Friday in the first day of competition at the Tiger Paw Invitational at the Indoor Track Complex in Clemson, S.C.
The Paladins had three runners among the top 10 in the men's 5,000m, with senior Charlie McGoogan taking fourth place with a time of 15:25.28. Junior Chris Caldwell placed sixth with a personal-best time of 15:26.35, followed by junior Jay Miller in seventh place after posting a personal-best time of 15:31.29.
For the Furman women's team, senior Jenna Callahan and junior Erin Barker were among the top finishers in the 1,000m, with Callahan taking seventh place with a time of 3:03.89, and Barker placing ninth after recording a time of 3:05.44.
The meet concludes on Saturday, with events beginning at noon.
