CLEMSON, S.C. -- Sophomore Ryan Adams set a new Paladin indoor track record in the mile Friday at the Tiger Tune Up in Clemson, S.C.
Adams took first place in the event with a time of 4:02.73, breaking the previous Furman record of 4:02.91, set by junior Troy Reeder last month. Reeder posted a time of 4:02.90 on Friday, capturing second place in the event.
"It was a very strong showing today with Ryan Martin of Asics Furman Elite taking on pace duties for Ryan Adams and Troy Reeder," said Furman head coach Robert Gary. "Both ran personal bests of 4:02, and Ryan Adams broke Troy's previous school record. It was a great performance heading into the SoCon Championships next weekend."
Furman will compete at the Southern Conference Championships in Johnson City, Tenn., February 25-26.
