GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The Furman men's cross country team is ranked 10th by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), while the Paladin women are ranked 21st, according to the national rankings released Tuesday.

The Furman men, four-time defending Southern Conference Champions, moved up from 12th to 10th this week, tying the best ranking in program history.  The Paladins were also ranked 10th in week 5 of 2015.  Furman scored a second-place finish at the Louisville Cross Country Classic on Saturday, defeating five teams which were ranked in the top 30 in last week's poll.  The Paladins remained at the top of the Southeast Region poll for the fifth-consecutive week.

The Paladin women, who also have won four-consecutive league titles, moved from 29th to 21st, the highest rank in the history of the Furman women's cross country program.  Furman is second in the Southeast Region for the fourth-consecutive week after notching a third-place finish at the Louisville Cross Country Classic last weekend.

After hosting the Gene Mullin Cross Country Invitational this Saturday, the Paladins will compete at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational Presented by Under Armour in Madison, Wis., and at the HPU Vert Invitational in High Point, N.C., on October 13.
