GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Select members of the Furman indoor track and field team will compete Friday at the Iowa State Classic in Ames, Iowa, while other Paladin athletes will compete at the Samford University Invitational in Birmingham, Ala.

In Iowa, sophomore Emma Grace Hurley will run in the women's 3,000m, and sophomores Savannah Carnahan and Grace Dwyer will square off in the women's 5,000m.  Seniors Frank Lara and Aaron Templeton, sophomore Mason Coppi, and freshman Daniel Bernal will run in the men's 5,000m.

The Samford meet will be held at the Birmingham CrossPlex.  Field events will begin at 9 a.m. and running events will commence at 10 a.m.  The final event of the day, the men's 4x400m is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.

"This is really a big weekend for us where we have emphasized personal bests for everyone competing," said Furman head coach Robert Gary.  "We are much more focused on cross country and outdoors, but excited for a great few weeks competing at two different meets both this weekend and next weekend, then the SoCon Indoor Championships."

Live results of both of this weekend's meets can be found at www.furmanpaladins.com.
