Kuntz Wins 800m To Lead Paladins At JDL DMR Invitational

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Sophomore Emma Kuntz won the 800m to lead the Furman track and field teams in the JDL DMR Invitational Saturday at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Kuntz posted a time of 2:08.32 for the victory, setting a new personal best in the event.  She was followed by sophomore Krissy Gear in second place at 2:11.04.

On the men's side, the Paladins placed two runners in the top seven in the 3,000m.  Junior Mason Coppi finished third with a time of 8:38.49, and sophomore Trenton Mandato claimed seventh place at 8:36.32.  In the 800m, junior Madison Daniel recorded a seventh place finish with a time of 1:58.40, and senior Chad Word took eighth place in the long jump with a mark of 6.37 (20-10.75).


Furman will compete at the Southern Conference Championships Feb. 23-24 in Lexington, Va.
