GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Coming off an impressive three-game Southern Conference road sweep of Western Carolina, Furman's baseball team will look to extend its new-found momentum Wednesday when it plays host to Presbyterian at Latham Stadium.  First pitch is set for 6:00 p.m.

The game will mark the third clash of the year between the Paladins (14-20) and Blue Hose (20-18).  Furman won the first two encounters, registering a 6-0 shutout in Clinton on Feb. 21 and a 7-6 triumph at Fluor Field in downtown Greenville on Mar. 5, and has captured five straight in the series.

The contest will be video streamed over Furman's Facebook page with Dan Scott, "The Voice of the Paladins", calling the play-by-play action for both the video live stream and audio broadcast, which will be carried over campus station 95.9 FM and streamed via Stretch Internet thru FurmanPaladins.com.  Fans can also follow the action on twitter @FurmanBaseball

StatBroadcast live stats will be presented thru FurmanPaladins.com.

Freshman right-hander Trent Alley (0-0, 1.80 ERA) is expected to make his collegiate starting debut for Furman.

The Paladins snapped a nine-game losing skid in solid fashion with the three-game sweep of Western Carolina, with pitching and defense proving crucial in the victories.  Furman's moundsmen combined to issue just two walks while striking out 24 Catamounts over 28 innings of work, and the Paladins committed just one error, fielding at a .992 clip over the three games.

Junior first baseman Brandon Elmy (.355, 5 HR, 25 RBI) tops Furman in hitting, with junior catcher/designated hitter Jason Costa (.346, 4 HR, 17 RBI) right behind.  Senior outfielder Carter Grote (.321, 3 HR, 19 RBI) has been on a tear of late, and the return of sophomore Jabari Richards (.289, 2 HR, 10 RBI) to the lineup has been a plus for the Paladins.

PC has played impressive ball of late, winning its last three weekend series, including a sweep of Winthrop two weeks ago.  The Blue Hose also own wins over Alabama and Auburn this year.

Blue junior left-hander Nick Wise (0-0, 0.00 ERA) will be making his first start of the season for PC.  Like Alley, it will mark only his fourth mound appearance this year.

Furman will return to SoCon play this weekend when it plays host to East Tennessee State in a three-game series starting on Friday.
