Spartanburg, S.C. – Freshman Spencer Collins scored a career-high 21 points to lead three Terriers in double figures as Wofford downed Furman, 63-50, in Southern Conference men's basketball action on Thursday night at the Benjamin Johnson Arena.

The loss dropped Furman to 5-13 overall and 2-5 in SoCon play.  Wofford upped its record to 8-12 overall and 2-6 in the league while earning the Terriers a regular season split with the Paladins.

Wofford led 39-35 with under 12 minutes remaining before putting together an 18-4 run to put the game out of reach.  Collins, who scored a career-high versus the Paladins for the second time in as many weeks, scored six points during the run, including the first four, as Wofford held Furman without a field goal from the 11:51 mark to the 3:04 mark of the second half to build a 57-39 advantage.

The Terries, who outscored Furman 34-26 over the final 20 minutes, shot 50% from the field in the second half and converted on 12-of-16 free throws during the final period.  Wofford managed a 32-16 edge in points in the paint, forced 20 Furman turnovers on 11 steals and out-rebounded the Paladins 32-25.

Collins connected on 8-of-16 shots to score his game-high while adding five boards and three steals.  Karl Cochran netted 15 points and Lee Skinner added 10 points and nine rebounds.  Wofford tallied 23 points off Paladin turnovers and 13 second chance points on 16 offensive rebounds.

Freshman Stephen Croone led Furman with 14 points while senior Colin Reddick scored 10 points, grabbed seven rebounds and blocked two shots.  The Paladins shot 42.5% from the floor, but made just 4-of-13 three-point attempts and finished with 15 fewer field goal attempts than the Terriers.

Furman returns to action next Thursday when it opens a four-game homestand hosting Georgia Southern at Timmons Arena.
