Greenville, S.C. -- Furman opens a three-game men's basketball homestand on Wednesday night when it hosts the UNCG Spartans in Southern Conference action at Timmons Arena.

Wednesday's game, slated to tip-off at 7 p.m., is "Jersey Night" at Timmons Arena. All students are encouraged to wear their favorite jersey and will have the chance to enter to win one of 12 throwback jerseys. The NCAA championship trophy will also be at Timmons Arena and fans can take pictures with the trophy in the lobby prior to the game, at the marketing table during the game and on the court following Wednesday's contest.

Tickets are available at the Timmons Arena Box Office or online at FurmanPaladins.com. The game will be streamed live on ESPN3 and can by heard on the Furman IMG Sports Network on FoxSports 1440AM, via the TuneIn Radio app, and through StretchAudio at FurmanPaladins.com.

Furman, 16-8 overall and 7-4 in SoCon play, will be looking to bounce back following a 100-92 overtime loss at The Citadel on Saturday afternoon. The Paladins held a 75-58 second half lead before the Bulldogs rallied to force overtime and earn a regular season series split with Furman. Devin Sibley and John Davis III led Furman with 18 points apiece in the loss.

Sibley leads the Paladins averaging 15.7 points per game, while Davis has contributed 12.2 per contest. Junior forward Matt Rafferty has added 11.8 points and a team-high 7.5 rebounds per contest. Senior Daniel Fowler has averaged 11.2 points per game to give the Paladins four double figure scorers.

UNCG comes to Greenville at 17-6 overall and 8-2 in league play. The Spartans, led by guard Francis Alonso's 17.1 points per game, won for the sixth time in the last seven games with a 73-51 victory over VMI this past weekend in Greensboro, N.C.

Wednesday's game marks the 33rd meeting between the Paladins and Spartans in a series that is even at 16-16 after UNCG downed Furman, 71-61, at the Greensboro Coliseum in the first meeting of the season on January 24. Alonso paced the Spartans with 17 points in the first meeting, while Davis led Furman with 19 points and seven rebounds. Furman holds a 10-3 record versus UNCG in Greenville, but the Spartans claimed last year's February meeting at Timmons Arena, 73-52.

The Paladins will entertain Wofford next Saturday at 4:30 p.m. before concluding the homestand versus Chattanooga on February 15.

NOTE: The Thirsty Paladin will be closed until 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday due to a private event.
