Furman Basketball Falls At ETSU, 79-56

Johnson City, Tenn. -- Forward Jeromy Rodriguez led four Buccaneers in double figures with 19 points and 11 rebounds and ETSU shot 60% from the field en route to a 79-56 victory over Furman in Southern Conference men's basketball action Saturday afternoon at Freedom Hall.

The loss dropped the Paladins to 12-2 overall and 1-1 in league. ETSU improved to 11-4 overall and 1-1 in the SoCon by winning its seventh straight home game.

The Bucs built a 34-24 halftime advantage before connecting on seven of their first eight shots in the second half. ETSU, who shot 66.7% over the final 20 minutes, missed on five of its next six shots before an 8-for-9 shooting spurt helped put the game away.

Rodriguez made 8-of-10 shots from the field and converted on 3-of-4 free throw attempts, while Daivien Williamson and Lucas N'Guessan added 13 points apiece. Patrick Good drained four triples to finish with 12 points.

Furman shot just 37%, including 5-for-22 from three-point range. Senior Matt Rafferty led the Paladins with 19 points, five boards and five assists, while Jordan Lyons netted 12 points. Freshman Noah Gurley rounded out the Paladins' double-figure scorers with 10 points.
