Greenville, S.C. - Furman travels to Belk Arena to face the league-leading Davidson Wildcats in a 3 p.m. Southern Conference men's basketball contest on Saturday. The game will be televised live on SportSouth and can be seen on Charter Cable channel 61 in the upstate.
The game marks the 150th meeting in the all-time series between Furman and Davidson. The Wildcats hold an 88-61 series lead and have won 21 of the last 22 meetings with the Paladins. Davidson (18-6, 16-0), undefeated at 16-0 in SoCon play, downed Furman 73-51 at Timmons Arena on January 16, and have won 26 consecutive Southern Conference regular season contests.
Furman (5-19, 4-11) won its third game in its last four home contests with a 69-59 win over UNC Greensboro on Sunday. Junior Alex Opacic paced the Paladins with 19 points and 13 rebounds while senior George Brozos posted 18 points and a career-high 10 rebounds. The forward is averaging 16.5 points and 8.0 boards per game over Furman's last two outings.
Davidson rallied from a 17-point halftime deficit to down UNCG 83-78 on Wednesday. Sophomore guard Stephen Curry netted a career-high 41 points in the victory.
Furman returns to Timmons Arena for its home finale on Monday when it hosts the Wofford Terriers at 7 p.m.
