GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman senior running back Jerodis Williams will play in the 2012 Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) Senior Scout Bowl this Saturday in Myrtle Beach, S.C., it has been announced.

Kickoff for the contest, sponsored by the Collegiate Devlopment Football League, is set for 5:00 p.m. at Doug Shaw Stadium and can be viewed online through UStream:

Williams, a two-time All-Southern Conference selection as a running back and 2012 Sports Network All-America choice as a return specialist, will play for the South squad directed by members of the North Carolina Central coaching staff. He will be joined on the South team by two other SoCon players, including Western Carolina linebacker Rock Williams and Citadel punter Cass Couey.

Willams rushed for 1,170 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2012 after running for 1,055 yards and nine scores in 2011.  His strong senior campaign, which featured a career best 239-yard, two-touchdown performance in a 45-24 win over Western Carolina, helped him finish ranked fifth in school rushing history with 3,097 yards.  His 29 rushing touchdowns mark the eighth most by a Paladin.

The Prattville, Ala., native led FCS in kickoff returns this season, averaging 35.9 yards per attempt.  He returned kicks for 100 yards against both Western Carolina and Appalachian State, with the 100-yard bolt against the Catamounts helping him tally a school record 370 all-purpose yards.
