GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman senior running back Jerodis Williams has been named to the Walter Camp Foundation FCS All-America team as a kickoff return specialist, it was announced today.
The honor marks the second All-America tab for Williams, who earlier claimed a scroll from The Sports Network.
Williams, a two-time All-Southern Conference selection as a running back, rushed for 1,170 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2012 after running for 1,055 yards and nine scores in 2011. His strong senior campaign, which featured a career best 239-yard, two-touchdown performance in a 45-24 win over Western Carolina, helped him finish ranked fifth in school rushing history with 3,097 yards. His 29 rushing touchdowns mark the eighth most by a Paladin.
The Prattville, Ala., native led FCS in kickoff returns this season, averaging 35.9 yards per attempt. He returned kicks for 100 yards against both Western Carolina and Appalachian State, with the 100-yard bolt against the Catamounts helping him tally a school record 370 all-purpose yards.
