GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The Furman football team will hold its annual Purple-White scrimmage Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in Paladin Stadium in the final scrimmage session of spring practice, head coach Bruce Fowler said today.

"We're excited about it (scrimmage) and look forward to seeing some of the progress our guys have made over the last several weeks," said Fowler, whose squad will perform in the shadow of the Pearce-Horton Football Complex — Furman Football's new 44,000 square-foot operational home at Paladin Stadium that is currently under construction and due for completion in late fall.

The scrimmage is expected to last approximately and hour and a half.

Sixty-four players are currently in Furman's program.

Seventeen recruits who signed national letters of intent with the Paladins in February will also be on hand Saturday, along with over 100 high school junior prospects.

A concert by the acclaimed band "NeedToBreathe" featuring lead singer and former Furman football standout wide receiver Bear Rinehart, is set for 9:00 p.m. in Timmons Arena.
