GREENVILLE, S.C. -- In preparation for the fast approaching 2013-14 athletic year, sports a new look today.

"We are thrilled with the bright, new design and look of our web site and are confident it will be well received by our fans, from both a navigational and ease-of-use standpoint to its clean, comprehensive informational presentation," said sports information director Hunter Reid in an announcement that accompanied the site's re-launch — Furman's first since 2010.

"We think it knocks the ball out of the park from a visual standpoint, especially the rotating vertical, five-story presentation format, which is unique among collegiate web sites and one that allows us to take full advantage of space that horizontal formats waste."

In addition the site boasts new left side navigation tabs to guide fans to top stories, video, recent results, and photo galleries.

Social media sports a much more definitive presence on with a new widget located in the upper right hand corner of the main page and sport specific page fronts.

"You can retweet right from the page and share news about Furman athletics with just a click of the button," said Furman athletic marketing representative Dwight Covington, who was part of the redesign effort that also included director of athletic marketing Mike Arnold and assistant sports information directors Jordan Caskey and Julie Paré.

"Our video section is one of the newest features from PrestoSports, our web service provider.  The video player enlarges right on the screen to enhance the viewer's experience.  Also, when you launch video through the story link, it takes you to our new single player video page and index of all related video, effectively upgrading your navigation experience to a whole new level."
