GREENVILLE, S.C -- Furman's football team climbed two spots to No. 21 in this week's STATS FCS Top 25 Poll, which was released today.

The Paladins (6-2, 5-1 SoCon), who were idle this past Saturday following nine consecutive weeks of play, entertain The Citadel this Saturday in a 2:00 p.m. Family Weekend contest at Paladin Stadium.

Winners of six straight games, including a decisive 28-6 road triumph over then 18th-ranked Western Carolina on Oct, 28, Furman is alone in second place in the SoCon standings, a half game behind Wofford with two games remaining.  The Paladins close out the regular season on Nov. 18 at Samford, which is ranked 16th in this week's poll.

Furman started the season 0-3 with a 24-23 road loss to Wofford (STATS No. 8), a 34-31 setback to Elon (STATS No. 7), and loss to FBS North Carolina State (USA Today Coaches No. 24).  The Paladins began their current six-game winning streak on Sept. 23 with a 45-14 road triumph over Colgate, which is currently tied for first place in the Patriot League standings.
