Harper Leads Paladins To Runner Up Finish At Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate

HILTON HEAD, S.C. -- Junior Keller Harper (+4) tied for 13th to help the Furman (+16) men's golf team to a runner up finish Tuesday at the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate at the par 72, 6,913 yard Arnold Palmer Signature Course at Wexford Plantation in Hilton Head, S.C.

All five Paladin players recorded three birdies on Tuesday including Harper, a native of Atlanta, Ga., who shot even par in the final round.  Senior Raj Ghosh (+5) tied for 17th after tallying a 77 in Tuesday's round, while freshman Phil Jones (+7) added a 74 to tie for 25th.

Senior Connor Bruns (+8) recorded a 75 in Tuesday's round to tie for 31st, and sophomore Jack Crosby (+10) fired a one-under 71 to lead the Paladins in the final round, tying for 37th.

Brad Bawden (-4) of Memphis won individual medalist honors with rounds of 70-72-70=212.

Charleston Southern (+12) led the field with a 278 on Tuesday to win the tournament by four strokes over the Paladins (+16), who recorded their fourth runner-up finish of the 2018-19 season.  Memphis (+17) finished third, followed by Winthrop (+21) in fourth, while Davidson (+22) and Temple (+22) tied for fifth.

Furman will compete at the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate, March 11-12, in Aiken, S.C.
