    Greenville, S.C. – A 7-0 first quarter gave Furman a lead it would never relinquish, as the Paladins downed VMI, , on senior day in Paladin Stadium. The win moves Furman to 7-6 on the year and 6-0 in SoCon play, while the loss drops the Keydets to 2-11 and 0-6 in SoCon play. The win also gives Furman an undefeated home conference record in 2017.

    Greenville, S.C. – Furman football’s Duncan Fletcher and men’s lacrosse’s Jon Vandenberg have been named Southern Conference Graduate Scholars, the league announced Monday. The two, along with eight other SoCon student-athletes, will be honored for their accomplishments at the Southern Conference Honors Dinner in Hilton Head, S.C., on Wednesday, May 31.

    Greenville, S.C. – Behind four goals by Lou Yovino and solid second-half defensive play, Furman downed Air Force, 8-7, on Saturday afternoon inside Paladin Stadium. The win moves Furman to 5-6 on the year, setting a new school record for wins, and keeps the Paladins unbeaten in SoCon play (4-0). The loss drops the Falcons to 7-5 on the year and 3-1 in SoCon play. Air Force had never lost a SoCon game since joining the league last season, with today’s Furman win halting a 12-game Falcon winning streak in conference play.

    University Park, Pa. – Down 11-5 with 3:00 remaining in the third period, Furman lacrosse mounted a furious comeback to cut the lead to one with just under five minutes to go. However, Penn State was able to hold the possession and take a two-goal lead with 44 seconds on the clock to down the Paladins, 12-10, on Tuesday afternoon. The win moves the Nittany Lions to 6-0 on the year, while the loss drops the Paladins to 1-6.
