Greenville, S.C. – Furman men's lacrosse returns to Paladin Stadium on Saturday, playing host to defending national champion North Carolina in a 12:00 p.m. contest. The game will be streamed for free on YouTube. 

The Paladins are coming off a tough opening weekend, where they dropped a heartbreaking season-opening loss to Vermont on Thursday in overtime, before falling 12-6 at No. 17 Ohio State on Sunday. William Holcomb leads the Paladins in scoring with five goals (five points), while freshman Lou Yovino is close behind with four points (three goals, one assist). Senior captain Jon Vandenberg leads Furman in ground balls with 10, while Reilly McDermott and freshman Alec Van de Bovenkamp have combined for 12 saves in goal.

North Carolina comes to Paladin Stadium as the preseason number one pick in both the USILA/Nike Division I Men's Lacrosse Coaches Preseason Poll and the Maverik Men's Division I Media Preseason Poll. The Tar Heels downed UMBC 17-6 in their season opener on Saturday afternoon. Ten different players tallied goals and five recorded assists, with freshmen Justin Anderson and Timmy Kelly each netting three goals for Carolina.
