Men’s Lacrosse Opens SoCon Play Against Bellarmine Saturday

Game Notes 

Greenville, S.C. – Furman men's lacrosse opens SoCon play this weekend, playing host to Bellarmine in Paladin Stadium at 12:00 p.m. The Paladins are coming off a 10-day break and Saturday marks the first game in Greenville since March 5.

Furman mounted a furious comeback in its last game at No. 3 Penn State, netting five goals in the game's final 20 minutes to cut an 11-5 deficit to one at 11-10. The Paladins couldn't overcome the early deficit, however, falling to the Nittany Lions, 12-10. Furman was led on offense by Lou Yovino with three goals, while William Holcomb added three points (2 G, 1 A). Zach Scott dished out a team-high two assist, while reigning SoCon Defensive Player of the Week Alec Van de Bovenkamp made seven saves.

Bellarmine heads to Paladin Stadium after suffering an 18-7 loss to Mount St. Mary's on Saturday. Tucker Ciessau and Jack Perkins scored two goals apiece for Bellarmine while Andrew Schoeneck collected three assists against the Mountaineers. Brian Wall, Eric Liddy and Ian Miller chipped in one goal apiece.
