Greenville, S.C. -- Furman men's soccer announced the addition of nine players to its roster for the 2016 season on Thursday, including a United States U-19 goalkeeper, NSCAA All-American and two Top Drawer Soccer IMG Top 150 recruits, according to Paladin head coach Doug Allison.

Forward John Branisa of Houston, Texas, goalkeeper Max Fisher of Salisbury, N.C., midfielder Rocky Guerra of Lawrenceville, Ga., goalkeeper Ben Hale of Frisco, Texas, defender Sean Langan of Greenville, S.C., forward Emery May of Wichita Kan., forward Cole McLagan of Lee's Summitt, Mo., midfielder Conor Sloan of Murrells Inlet, S.C., and defender Brendan Weigley of Safety Harbor, Fla., signed with the program this week. Eight of the newcomers will join the team in the fall, while Guerra is already enrolled at Furman.

"This group represents what our program stands for both on and off of the pitch," said Anthony Esquivel, Furman's Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator.  "We are focused on bringing in top quality students who are dedicated to being a positive influence in the classroom, in the Greenville community, as well as on the playing field.  I expect them to be successful in every arena."

Hale, a member of FC Dallas' USSF Academy, is currently in Spain playing for the U.S. U-19 Team at the Copa de Atlantico Tournament. He was rated by Top Drawer Soccer as the No. 58 recruit in the nation, while forward/midfielder Conor Sloan was listed as the No. 130 recruit in the 2016 class.  Midfielder/forward Emery May earned 2015 NSCAA All-America honors.

Furman is set to return five starters from a 2015 squad that posted an 8-5-6 record, claimed its second consecutive Southern Conference Tournament title and made its second straight NCAA Tournament appearance.
