Johnson City, Tenn. -- Laurence Wyke headed Rocky Guerra's corner kick into the far right-hand corner in the 98th minute to hand No. 3 seed Furman a 2-1 overtime victory versus No. 2 seed ETSU in Southern Conference Men's Soccer Championship semifinal round play Friday night at Summers-Taylor Stadium.

With the victory, the Paladins (12-6-1) advanced to face No. 5 seed UNCG in the SoCon Championship Match at 1 p.m. Sunday in Johnson City, Tenn. The Spartans punched their ticket to the finals with a 1-0 victory over top-seed Mercer earlier on Friday.

Guerra curled his set piece towards the far side of the top of the six-yard box and Wyke rose over his defender to nod his shot into the corner for his seventh goal of the season at 97:37. The assist was the team-leading seventh of the season for Guerra.

Furman claimed a 1-0 lead in the 47th minute when Conor Sloan picked out Miles Fenton trailing the play. The freshman took the cross from the left near the top of the box and slotted his shot inside the right post for his second goal of the season.

ETSU answered with the equalizing goal in the 55th minute. The Paladins were whistled for a foul on the left side of the box and Cameron Woodfin converted from the penalty spot for his sixth goal of the season to knot the contest at 1-1.

Furman goalkeeper Ben Hale recorded three saves to propel the Paladins to their second win over the Bucs in Johnson City, Tenn. this season. Josh Perryman notched one save for the Bucs in a losing effort.

The Paladins finished with a 9-8 edge in total shots, while ETSU managed a 4-3 advantage in shots on goal.

Sunday's SoCon Championship match will mark the seventh time that Furman and UNCG have met for the league crown. The Spartans downed the Paladins, 1-0, in the regular season finale in Greensboro, N.C. The match will be streamed on ESPN3.
