GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The Furman men's tennis team plays host to Emory Friday at 3 p.m. at the Mickel Tennis Center.
The march marks the 15th meeting between the two schools. The teams last met in 2006, when the Paladins defeated the Eagles, 4-3, in Greenville to improve their series lead to 14-0.
Furman enters the match with a 2-11 overall record and 0-3 Southern Conference mark. The Paladins fell to SoCon foe UNC Greensboro, 7-0, on Tuesday in Greensboro. Furman came out strong at number one doubles, as senior Andrew Mellow and junior Joel Cook defeated James Dougherty and Randy Phillips, 8-4.
Emory comes to Greenville with an 8-4 record after defeating Georgia Perimeter, 9-0, on Wednesday. Earlier this season the Eagles defeated Gustavus Adolphus to reach the finals of the National Indoor Championships. In the title match, Kenyon slipped past Emory, 5-4.
Furman hits the road for a 2 p.m. match-up at Georgia Southern on Tuesday.
