GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The Furman men's tennis team looks to extend its nine-match winning streak when the Paladins travel to East Tennessee State and Chattanooga this weekend.  Furman will travel to Johnson City to face the Bucs on Friday at 2 p.m., then the Paladins head to Chattanooga for a 3 p.m. contest on Saturday.

Furman holds a 10-3 overall record and 3-0 SoCon mark after beating Wofford, 6-1, on Wednesday.  Paladin sophomore Ivan Mitric is ranked 120th nationally according to the latest 2019 Oracle/ITA Division I men's singles poll, which was released last week by the organization.

Sophomore Drew Singerman is an undefeated 11-0 in singles action, while junior Jake Bhangdia is 10-3 overall and 9-2 at flight four.  Mitric and junior Jake Munns each hold a 9-3 overall singles record.  Three Paladin doubles teams are undefeated:  Bhangdia & Clarke Wilson (8-0); Henrik Atlevi & Singerman (7-0); and James Roelofse & Alex Steryous (1-0).  Mitric & Munns are 7-1 at flight one doubles.

Friday's match marks the 40th meeting between Furman and ETSU.  The Bucs defeated the Paladins, 5-2, in Greenville during the regular season last year then beat Furman, 4-2, in the finals of the 2019 Southern Conference Championships.  Furman leads the all-time series, 21-18.  ETSU is 10-4 overall and 2-0 in league play after downing Elon, 5-2, on Sunday.

On Saturday, Furman will take on Chattanooga for the 49th time.  The Paladins hold a 37-11 series lead after beating the Mocs, 7-0, in Greenville last season.  Chattanooga is 10-7 overall and 1-0 in the Southern Conference.  The Mocs handed The Citadel a 5-2 loss on Sunday.
