Furman vs. Elon Game Notes & Stats (PDF)

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The Furman Paladins women's basketball team will hit the road Friday to take on the Elon Phoenix in a Southern Conference battle at Alumi Gym.  Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m.

The Furman-Elon game will be broadcast online by StretchAudio through Furman All-Access at www.furmanpaladins.com, with Bryant Lambert on the call.  Live stats will be provided through www.furmanpaladins.com and in-game twitter updates via twitter.com/FurmanPaladins

Furman (6-9, 2-4 SoCon) will try to bounce back from a 87-46 home loss to SoCon frontrunner Davidson on Tuesday.  The Paladins had won two straight league games and three of their last four outings prior to the setback to Davidson.

Elon (8-7, 5-1) enters Friday's clash riding a four-game winning streak that has positioned the Phoenix a half game behind Davidson in the league standings.  In its last outing on Monday, Elon got a game high 21-point performance from senior guard Ali Ford en route to a 71-60 win over UNCG.

Elon leads the all-time series, 11-8, and has won six of the last seven meetings, but the two programs split last year's games, with the Paladins winning in Greenville, 75-60, and the Phonenix in Elon, 76-58.

The Paladins are paced in scoring by senior guard Teshia Griswold (13.3 ppg) and sophomore forward Brittany Hodges (8.6 pgg/7.1 rpg).  Freshman forward Patrice Butler has stepped up in the last two games, scoring 12 points in a 67-48 win over UNCG last Saturday and tallying a team high 16 points and seven rebounds against Davidson.

Furman will return home for clashes with Western Carolina (Jan. 23) at 7:00 p.m. and Wofford (Jan. 26), which is a 2:00 p.m. tip.
