Greenville, S.C. – The Furman women's golf team will open its 2010-11 season September 12-14, when it takes part in the 21-team field at the Cougar Classic at Yeamans Hall Golf Club in Hanahan, S.C.
The 54-hole, three-day event at the par-72, 6,210-yard course will tee-off at 8 a.m. on Sunday with the Paladins beginning play, along with North Carolina State and Minnesota, at 12:45 p.m.
Furman's lineup in the season-opening event will feature sophomore Alexa Rancourt, senior Stefanie Kenoyer, sophomore Laura Wearn, junior Liz Wendt and freshman Aubrie Street. Kenoyer, a two-time Southern Conference Player-of-the-Year selection, joined Wendt in qualifying for the United States Women's Amateur this past summer. Wearn, a native of Charlotte, N.C., captured the North Carolina Women's Amateur title in June.
Monday's second round will begin at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start scheduled to begin play for Tuesday morning's final round.
