Baton Rouge, La. – The Furman women's golf team (310-328-307=945) fired a final round 307 to improve to a 16th place finish on Sunday at the LSU Classic at the par-72, 6,194-yard University Club in Baton Rouge, La.
Sophomore Laura Wearn (79-82-74=235) fired a final round two-over 74 to improve her score by eight strokes from her second round effort while senior Stefanie Kenoyer (74-80-75=229) capped tournament play with a three-over 75 on Sunday to pace the Paladins.
Arkansas (301-300-287=888) pulled away from the field with a one-under 287 on Sunday to claim a seven-stroke victory over second place Virginia (+31). Alabama, Tennessee and Duke finished in a three-way tie for third place 12 strokes behind the Lady Razorbacks.
Lindy Duncan (72-75-71=218) recorded a par on the third playoff hole to edge Louisville's Annakarin Ljungstrom (75-74-69=218) for individual medalist honors.
Furman returns to action April 1-3, when it takes part in the University of Georgia's Liz Murphey Collegiate in Athens, Ga.
