Street’s 73 Helps Furman To Fifth Place Finish At Florida State Match-Up Tournament

Tallahassee, Fla. – Junior Aubrie Street (+2) fired a final round 73 to help the Furman (+12) women's golf team capture a fifth place finish on Sunday in the Florida State Match-Up Tournament at the par-72 Southwood Golf Course.

Street, a native of Medford, Ore., birdied three of her final four holes to shoot one-over for the round and finish at two-over par for the 54-hole tournament.  She claimed a share of eighth place in a field that included 12 of the top 70 ranked players in the nation.

Senior Laura Wearn (E), who was tied for the lead entering final round play, carded a four-over 76 on Sunday to finish with a share of third place at even-par.  After a bogey free round on Saturday, Wearn totaled five bogeys, including four on the back nine, on Sunday.

Junior Inga Gunnersdottir notched three final round birdies to shoot 74 as Furman carded a 12-over 300 to claim fifth place.  The University of Georgia (+13) shot a one-under 287 on Sunday to claim the tournament title with Oklahoma (+17), Tennessee (+18), Florida State (+29) and Furman (+33) rounding out the top five.  Furman finished ahead of three top-41 teams in a field that included six of the top 50 teams in the nation.

Rocio Sanchez Lobato of Georgia and Erica Popson of Tennessee tied for individual medalist honors at two-under.

The Paladins return to action March 8-10, at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate in Hilton Head Island, S.C.
