New Orleans, La. -- The Furman women’s golf team fell to 20th place after shooting a second round 334 on Saturday at the Tiger/Wave Golf Classic at the par-72 English Turn Golf and Country Club in New Orleans, La.
Playing in windy conditions that included gusts of more than 30 m.p.h., junior Stefanie Kenoyer led the Paladins with a five-over 77 to hold a share of 27th place. Kenoyer was the only Furman players to break 80.
Cydney Clanton (73-71=144) of Auburn and Megan McChrystal (72-72=144) of LSU are tied for the individual lead entering the final round in the 54-hole tournament. Auburn and LSU are also tied for the team lead at 25-over par. TCU is two strokes back in third place with first round leaders Alabama and Virginia rounding out the top five.
The Tiger/Wave Classic field features 16 of the top 50 teams in the country.
Final round play is set to begin at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday morning with a shotgun start.
