Baltimore, Md. – Behind five points (four goals and an assist) from Emily Kenul, No. 20 Johns Hopkins downed Furman, 19-0, on Saturday afternoon at Homewood Field. The win moves the Blue Hays to 4-2 on the year, while the loss drops the Paladins to 1-4.
Johns Hopkins tallied goals from 10 different players, as Kenul, Miranda Ibello, and Nicole DeMase each tallied a hat trick. Sophie Brennan won three draws and picked up three ground balls for the Paladins, while Maggie Friel and Courtney Baker combined for six saves.
The Blue Jays netted 11 scores in the first half and eight in the second half, while holding the Paladins to just nine shots on the afternoon. Furman's defense held strong on free position attempts, holding Johns Hopkins to 5-11.
Furman is back in action on March 11, hosting Iona inside Paladin Stadium.
