Women’s Lacrosse Travels to Howard, Delaware State for Final 2018 Road Trip

 

Greenville, S.C. – Furman women's lacrosse hits the road this weekend for the final road trip of 2018, traveling to Howard and Delaware State for Friday and Sunday matchups. 

The Paladins (4-10, 1-2 SoCon) are coming off back-to-back tough SoCon losses to Central Michigan and Detroit Mercy last weekend. Abby Shields leads the Paladins in goals (28), assists (21) and points (49) on the year, while Meg Lingo, Hannah Demis, and Grace Pollak each have 20+ points. Sophie Brennan sits third on the team in goals (14) and leads the Paladins in draws with 47.

HU (1-9) returns home looking to break its eight-match slide. Seniors midfielder Natia Warren and Amerra Sheckles spearhead the Bison attack. Warren, the New Jersey native, ranks 18th in the country with 3.50 goals per game, while Sheckles, the Seattle product, averages 12 saves per game, which is second in the nation.

Delaware State (0-11) hosts Wofford on Friday night before taking on the Paladins at Wilmington University on Sunday. Lauren Perry leads the hornets with 13 goals and three assists on the year, while Olivia Summerville sits in second with 11 goals and two assists. Elizabeth Henry and Raven James have split time in goal for the Hornets this season.
