Women’s Lacrosse Falls to Davidson on Saturday

Davidson, N.C. – Davidson used a 9-1 first half to down Furman on Saturday, 13-8, at the home of the Wildcats. The win moves Davidson to 2-0 on the year, while the loss drops the Paladins to 0-2.

Kyra LaMotte led the Paladins with three goals on the day, while Abby Shields, Hannah Demis, Sydney Catts, Grace Pollak and Sophie Brennan each scored one. Demis and Isabelle Walsh each added two assists.

The teams traded goals in the game's first five minutes, before the Wildcats used an 8-0 scoring run to close out the half and take a 9-1 lead into halftime. The Paladins opened the second half with four-straight goals to cut the lead to 9-5, before the Wildcast pushed it back to six at 11-5. Furman used three-straight goals from Brennan, LaMotte, and Demis to cut the lead to 11-8, but Davidson used back-to-back goals to end the game, taking the 13-8 victory.

Furman is back in action on Wednesday, hosting Presbyterian inside Paladin Stadium for a 6:00 p.m. start.
