Greenville, S.C. – After a week off, Furman women's lacrosse (3-5) hits the road this weekend, traveling to Florida for a Friday matchup with Stetson (0-7) and a Sunday clash with Jacksonville (6-2).
The Paladins have had more than 10 days off, with their last game coming on March 15. Furman downed Butler, 13-2, behind six points (four goals, two assists) from sophomore Hannah Demis. Grace Pollak leads the Paladins on offense with 22 goals on the year, while Demis is second with 13. Abby Shields has netted 12 scores on the year, while Sophie Brennan has added 10. Brennan leads the team in assists with 13 and Demis with 12, while Courtney Baker has made 58 saves in goal.
Stetson is coming off a 21-6 defeat at the hands of Liberty in the Hatters' ASUN opener. Taylor Zuberer and Marina Rotella lead the Hatters with 12 goals each, while Shelby Lehmann has tallied 10 goals and 10 assists. Riley Reagan leads the team in assists with 13, while Kiera McCarthy has made 63 saves on the year.
Jacksonville is coming off back-to-back road wins at Temple and Howard last weekend, downing the Bison 24-3 to open ASUN play. The Dolphins play host to Wofford on Friday night before the Paladins come to town on Sunday. Six Dolphins have netted double-digit goals on the year, while two have double-digit assists. Dayna Martinetto has played the majority of minutes in goal, making 57 saves.
