Greenville, S.C. – Furman women's lacrosse returns to Paladin Stadium this week, welcoming Delaware State and Howard for a Thursday/Saturday senior weekend matchup. The Paladins and Hornets will face off on Thursday at 5:00 p.m. in a SoCon contest, before the Bison come to Paladin Stadium for an 11:00 a.m. nonconference Senior Day contest. Both matches are set to be streamed on ESPN+.
Furman (7-7, 2-1 SoCon) is coming off a 1-1 weekend in SoCon play. The Paladins fell to Detroit Mercy on Friday, 14-12, before downing Central Michigan, 8-6, on Sunday. Grace Pollak leads the Paladins on offense with 35 goals on the year, while Abby Shields has 26 and 18 assists. Courtney Baker has played all 780:00 in goal for the Paladins on the season, making 119 saves. Sophie Brennan leads the team in draws with 45 and assists with 19.
Delaware State (1-8, 0-2 SoCon) is coming off a 21-1 defeat at the hands of Stetson on Saturday. Olivia Summerville netted the Hornets' only goal and leads the team on the year with 12 scores. Howard (0-10) will take on Wofford in Spartanburg before heading to Greenville on Saturday and enters the weekend after falling to Kent State, 17-1, on Sunday. Tiffany Hunt scored the only goal for the Bison in the contest for her fifth goal of the season. Jillian Jones leads the Bison with 13 scores on the year.
Prior to Saturday's contest, Furman will celebrate its six seniors playing in their final home regular season contest. Abby Shields, Courtney Baker, Isabelle Walsh, Hannah Feinberg, Sophie Brennan and Savannah Plemmons will be recognized on the field.
