Greenville, S.C. -- Furman placed 33 athletes on the Southern Conference Spring Academic All-Conference Team, it was announced today by the league office.
A total of 323 SoCon student-athletes were named to the team, which honored student-athletes from the sports of baseball, softball, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's golf and men's and women's outdoor track and field.
To be eligible, student-athletes must carry at least a 3.3 cumulative grade point average entering the spring season and were required to compete in at least one-half of their team's competitions during the recently concluded winter campaign. In addition, the student-athletes must have successfully completed at least 24 credit hours in the previous two semesters.
Each of Furman's spring squads placed at least two athletes on the team with baseball and women's outdoor track and field leading the way with six honorees apiece.
