Chattanooga, Tenn. -- Heavy rains and wet field conditions have forced the cancellation of the final two games of this weekend's Southern Conference softball series between Furman and Chattanooga at Frost Stadium in Chattanooga, Tenn.

After the Mocs took the opening game, 2-0, on a walk-off homer in the bottom of the seventh inning on Saturday, Furman raced out to a 7-4 lead through two and a half innings in game two. Lightning and rain forced the suspension of the game until Sunday, but it was determined this morning that the inclement weather would not allow for the resumption of game two or the final game of the series to be played.

Furman, 31-11 overall and 3-4 in the SoCon, returns to action and league play next Saturday when it opens a three-game home series versus Western Carolina with a 1 p.m. doubleheader at Pepsi Stadium.
