Gabby Rodriguez Career Records

Sophomore Year (2016-17):  Rodriguez posted a 2-2 overall singles record and a 3-5 doubles mark.  She scored a 6-0, 6-0 advantage over Tusculum at flight four singles and added a 6-0, 6-0 win versus Brenau at flight six.  In doubles action, she teamed with Blair Martin at flight two for wins over Brenau and Tulane, and she combined with Katarina Kozarov to defeat USC Upstate, 6-0, at flight three.   Rodriguez was named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll and the ITA All-Academic Team. 

Freshman Year (2015-16):  Rodriguez was named to the Southern Conference All-Freshman Team after posting a 12-11 overall singles record and 4-3 league mark, playing primarily at flight five.  She won eight of ten matches midseason beginning with a 7-6(2), 1-6, 6-1 victory versus Missouri.  Rodriguez won four of her first five conference matches, with victories over Mercer, UNCG, Western Carolina, and Chattanooga.  She also defeated Western Caroina, 6-3, 6-1, in the opening round of the SoCon Championships.  Rodriguez teamed with Blair Martin at flight two doubles.  The Paladin duo earned All-SoCon second team honors after posting a 17-2 overall record and perfect 7-0 league mark. Rodriguez and Martin earned 11-consecutive wins to end the season, including a 6-3 victory over Samford in the second round of the league tournament.  Rodriguez was named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll.  

Prep/Personal:  A five-star recruit by www.tennisrecruiting.net, Gabby Rodriguez was ranked ninth in the state of Florida and 67th nationally at the time of her signing.  She teamed with Paladin  Blair Martin in doubles for three seasons at Plant High, helping the team to consecutive state championships.  The duo also won a USTA state title and overall doubles title.  Rodriguez' older sister, Julia, is a junior on the Furman cross country team.  Gabrielle Christine Rodriguez was born on January 8, 1997, in Tampa, Fla.  She is the daughter of Jorge Rodriguez and Ari Rodriguez.  Her cousin, Ryan Lochte, is a decorated U.S. Olympic swimmer.  She intends to study health sciences and pre-medicine.
