  • No. 50 Furman Holds Off ETSU, 4-2, To Win Third-Straight SoCon Championship

    Sophomore Carol Elizabeth Kerman topped Yunuen Elizarraras, 6-1, 2-6, 6-3, at flight five singles to clinch the winning point as top-seeded Furman beat second-seeded ETSU, 4-2, to win the Southern Conference Championship Saturday at the John Drew Smith Tennis Center in Macon, Ga.
  • No. 50 Furman Advances To SoCon Finals With 4-0 Victory Over Samford

    No. 50 Furman defeated Samford, 4-0, in the Southern Conference women’s tennis semifinals Friday at the John Drew Smith Tennis Center in Macon, Ga.  The top-seeded Paladins, who are making their third-straight appearance in the league championship match, will square off against No. 2 ETSU Saturday at 1 p.m., with the victor earning the SoCon’s automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.

  • Furman's Kozarov Earns Second-Consecutive SoCon Player Of The Year Honor; Adams Voted SoCon Freshman Of The Year

    Furman’s Katarina Kozarov has been honored as the 2019 Southern Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Year, while Julia Adams was voted the league’s freshman of the year.  All told, the Paladins, who boast a 60-3 combined league mark in singles and doubles competition this season, had six players earn SoCon postseason accolades, as announced today by the league office.

    The 48th-ranked Furman women’s tennis team will battle ETSU Saturday in a Southern Conference showdown between the league’s two unbeaten teams.  First serve is set for noon at the Mickel Tennis Center in Greenville, S.C.  The winner will be deemed the league’s regular season champion and will earn the No. 1 seed in next week’s SoCon Championships.

    Furman’s Katarina Kozarov has been named the Southern Conference women’s tennis player of the week for all matches played April 2-8, the conference office announced Tuesday. The award is the second of the season for Kozarov.

    No. 45 Furman extended its winning streak to 18 matches with a 7-0 victory over Samford at the Samford Tennis Center in Birmingham, Ala., on Friday.  With the win, Furman improves to 21-1 overall and 5-0 in the Southern Conference.  The Bulldogs drop to 10-10 overall and 1-4 in the league with the loss.

    No. 45 Furman remained unbeaten in Southern Conference play with a 7-0 victory at Chattanooga Sunday at the Stang-Voges Tennis Center in Chattanooga, Tenn.  With the win, Furman extended its winning streak to 19 and improves to 22-1 overall and a perfect 6-0 in league play.  The Mocs fall to 8-10 overall and 1-5 in the SoCon with the loss.

    No. 40 Furman swept Wofford, 7-0, Saturday at the Reeves Tennis Center in Spartanburg, S.C.  With the win, Furman extends its winning streak to 17 matches and improves to 20-1 overall and 4-0 in the Southern Conference.  The Terriers fall to 10-6 overall and 2-2 in league play with the loss.

    Furman’s Madison Dillon has been named the Southern Conference women’s tennis player of the week for all matches played March 5-11, the conference office announced Tuesday. Dillon, a freshman, went 3-0 in both singles and doubles on the week as Furman (14-1), beat Florida Gulf Coast, Valparaiso and Iowa.
