GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The Furman women's tennis team will face its first road opponent this season on Wednesday when the Paladins travel to Spartanburg to take on USC Upstate at 3 p.m.

Furman enters Wednesday's match with a 4-1 record after dropping a hard-fought 4-3 match to Louisville on Sunday afternoon then turning around to beat Emmanuel, 7-0, in the nightcap.  USC Upstate holds a 1-3 mark after beating Belmont Abbey, 7-0, on Saturday, then falling to Queens, 4-3, also on Saturday.

The match marks the fifth meeting between the two teams.  The Paladins defeated the Spartans, 7-0, last season in Greenville to take a 4-0 series lead.
