GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman's Katarina Kozarov has been named the Southern Conference women's tennis player of the week for all matches played April 2-8, the conference office announced Tuesday. The award is the second of the season for Kozarov.
A junior from Novi Sad, Serbia, Kozarov went 2-0 in both singles and doubles on the week, all at the top position, as Furman won a pair of conference matches, both 7-0 sweeps, and improved to 22-1 overall and 6-0 in SoCon play. The Paladins have won 19 contests in a row.
In singles action, Kozarov, who is ranked No. 69, defeated Samford's Grace Jennings 6-1, 6-2 on April 5. Two days later, she downed Chattanooga's Delaney Edwards in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1.
