Furman Volleyball Plays Host to UNCG on Friday

 

Greenville, S.C. – Furman volleyball returns to Alley Gym on Friday, continuing SoCon play against UNCG. The teams are set to square off at 7:00 PM and the matchup is set to be shown live on the SoCon Digital Network.

The Paladins (7-11, 3-4 SoCon) are coming off a 3-0 sweep of Wofford on Wednesday night in Spartanburg, S.C. Carris Campbell led all hitters with 10 kills, while adding two blocks. Neci Harris added eight kills, while Courtney Hoffman and Jamila Johnson each added five kills. Meg DeMaar picked up a match-high 16 digs, while Abbey Crawford and Hunter Thompson each added 11. The Paladins tallied a season-high nine aces, while limiting Wofford to three.

The Spartans (9-9, 3-3 SoCon) come to Alley Gym following an off week. UNCG fell to ETSU in its last match on October 3, 3-0. Sophomore outside hitter Maria Esch led the team with a match-high 12 kills, while Allison Penner leds the way in assists with 33. Freshman defensive specialist Stephanie Meysembourg, meanwhile, led the team with 14 digs. Outside hitter Holly Behrends leads the team with 2.84 kills per set, while Penner leads the team with 7.73 assists per set.
