Greenville, S.C. – Furman volleyball returns to Alley Gym this weekend, taking on Samford and Chattanooga in two homecoming weekend contests. Both matches are set for 7:00 p.m. and will be streamed on the SoCon Digital Network. The first 100 fans in attendance at both matches will receive a free donut, compliments of the Donut Experiment.
Furman (8-11, 4-4 SoCon) is coming off back-to-back sweeps last week, winning at Wofford on Wednesday and downing UNCG in Alley Gym on Friday. Meg DeMaar was named the SoCon's Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, after averaging 6.50 digs per set (39 total digs) in the two matches. Jordan McNeill continues to lead the Paladins on offense with 168 kills on the year, while Carris Campbell sits second with 156.
Samford (11-11, 6-2 SoCon) comes to Furman after a 1-1 last week in SoCon play, falling 3-2 at Chattanooga on Wednesday, before rallying for a 3-2 win at Western Carolina on Friday. Krista Boesing leads the Bulldogs with 333 kills on the year, while freshman Lauren Deaton is second with 271. Grace Tiesman ranks first on the team in digs with 322.
Chattanooga (8-13, 4-4 SoCon) is set to take on Wofford on Friday, prior to coming to Alley Gym on Saturday. The Mocs went 1-1 last week as well, downing Samford on Wednesday before falling at Western Carolina on Saturday. Dani Szczepanski leads the Mocs with 177 kills on the season, while Gylian Finch is second with 164. Megan Kaufman anchors the back line and has turned in 270 digs on the year.
