Furman Volleyball Travels to The Citadel, Mercer

 

Greenville, S.C. – Furman volleyball hits the road this weekend, traveling to The Citadel and Mercer for Friday and Saturday matchups, respectively. Friday's match will be streamed on ESPN+, while Saturday's match will not be streamed.

Furman (9-12, 5-5 SoCon) is coming off a 1-1 weekend, falling in five sets to Samford on Friday before sweeping Chattanooga on Saturday. Carris Campbell currently leads the team with 192 kills on the year, while Meg DeMaar leads the team in digs with 381.

The Citadel (8-13, 3-7 SoCon) fell last week to both UNCG and Western Carolina, both on the road. In the loss at UNCG, Mellanie King led the Bulldogs offensively with 11 kills, while Megan Fuhr dished out 25 assists with a team-high 13 digs.

Mercer (11-10, 4-6 SoCon) is coming off back-to-back five-set road wins last weekend, at UNCG and Western Carolina. SoCon Offensive Player of the Week Maddie Nunley twice recorded 60+ assists last weekend, while notching her 1000th career assist against Western Carolina on Sunday. Paige Alsten leads the Bears on offense and ranks fourth in the conference in hitting percentage (.334) and kills (3.39).
