Volleyball Plays Host to ETSU, Western Carolina for Senior Weekend

Greenville, S.C. – Furman volleyball returns to Alley Gym this weekend, welcoming ETSU and Western Carolina to campus for Friday and Saturday competition. Both matches will be streamed on the SoCon Digital Network, and Saturday's match will celebrate Furman's five graduating seniors.

Fans will have multiple chances to win prizes this weekend, as FUVB will be raffling off a YETI cooler during Saturday's match. Fans dressed in their favorite jersey on Friday will receive an extra raffle ticket, as well as fans wearing their best Furman gear on Saturday. There will also be drawings for Furman tumblers and Chick-fil-A gift cards on Friday.

All five Paladin seniors have played major roles this season, as Jordan McNeill, Carris Campbell, and Jamila Johnson are 1-3 in kills with 219, 217, and 152, respectively. Hunter Thompson has notched 920 assists on the year, while Meg DeMaar, Furman's career digs leader, is poised to become the first player in Paladin history to turn in 2000 digs, currently sitting at 431 on the season.

ETSU (22-5, 11-1 SoCon) comes to Furman on a 10-match SoCon winning streak. The Bucs are led by Leah Clayton with 383 kills (3.87 k/s), while AJ Lux sits second with 284. Marija Popovic leads the conference with 538 digs, 5.43 digs per set.

Western Carolina (12-11, 6-6 SoCon) takes on Wofford on Friday night before hitting the court in Alley Gym on Saturday. The Catamounts are led by Merry Gebel with 249 kills on the year, while Abigail Veit is second with 218. Hannah Price has 476 assists on the season, while Sydney Carlson has added 332.
