Greenville, S.C. – Tuesday night's Furman men's soccer non-conference finale versus Winthrop at Stone Soccer Stadium has been canceled due to heavy rains, wet field conditions, and the forecast for more rain over the next 24 hours, it was announced on Monday afternoon.
The Paladins, ranked No. 7 in the latest Top Drawer Soccer Top 25 and No. 19 in this week's College Soccer News poll, will now return to action on Saturday at 7 p.m. when they travel to Spartanburg, S.C., to face Wofford in the regular season finale for both teams.
Furman, 11-1-4 overall and 3-0-1 in Southern Conference play, scored a 2-0 victory over No. 18 UNC Greensboro last Saturday night to maintain a share of first place in the SoCon standings and extend its winning streak to five matches. The Paladins can clinch at least a share of the SoCon regular season title with a victory over the Terriers on Saturday.
