GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Furman volleyball team hits the road this weekend to close out the regular season against the Western Carolina Catamounts and Chattanooga Mocs.
The Paladins travel to Western Carolina on Friday before ending the regular season on Saturday at Chattanooga. Both matches are slated for 6 p.m. first serves.

The Paladins (19-7, 10-4 SoCon) wrapped up their home schedule last weekend topping the top two teams in the conference standings, Wofford and East Tennessee State. Furman started out with a 3-1 victory over Wofford, its first since 2021, on November 6. The Paladins followed two days later by handing East Tennessee State its first conference loss of the season with a 3-2 triumph.
Ashley Stein and
Lindsay Walch both had 12 kills to lead Furman offensively against Wofford, with Stein hitting .391 for the match and Walch .258. Stein registered a double-double after totaling 11 digs.
Ashtan Dodson set a new career high with 15 digs and finished with eight kills on .421 hitting.
Emily Navarro poured in 22 assists and nine digs, while
Kennedy Seekford added 12 digs.
The Paladins concluded the contest hitting .282 as a team and held a 51-44 advantage in kills, 44-41 in assists, and 63-51 in digs. Furman boasted 12 blocks led by
Tennyson Gorman, who was named SoCon Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, with 10. Stein matched her career high of five blocks.
In the five-set win over ETSU, Walch led the Paladins with a match high 15 kills on .312 hitting, while Stein turned in her second straight double-double, and fifth of the season, on 12 kills and 11 digs.
Izzy Castelloe contributed 11 kills. Navarro totaled 24 assists and nine digs, and
Eva Wheeler added 22 assists. Seekford had a team high 16 digs and Dodson provided 14.
Furman finished the match hitting .293 overall and recorded a season high 15 blocks. The Paladins last posted 15 or more blocks in a match back on September 23, 2023, when they totaled 17 in a 3-2 win over Samford at Alley Gymnasium. Gorman finished with a career high 11 blocks (six solo, five assisted) and
Grainne McGrath added four.
Western Carolina heads into the final weekend of the regular season with a 7-18 overall record and 3-11 mark in the SoCon, while Chattanooga is 14-12 for the year and 8-6 versus league opponents. Furman owns a 52-37 lead in the all-time series over the Catamounts and holds a 52-32 advantage versus the Mocs.
The 2025 SoCon Volleyball Championship will be held November 20-23 at Harrah's Cherokee Center in Asheville, N.C.
