GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman's women's basketball team hits the road for a Wednesday night clash against Radford at the Highlanders' Dedmon Arena. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
The game will be live-streamed via ESPN+ and live stats provided thru Sidearm, with links to both available on the Furman women's basketball schedule page on FurmanPaladins.com.
Furman (2-3) dropped a 68-61 home verdict to Campbell on Sunday to split a two-game homestand that included a 90-89 overtime win over Georgia State last Thursday.
Radford (2-3) is coming off a 77-46 loss to Virgina. The Highlanders own wins over Emory & Henry (69-36) and Loyola-Maryland (59-50).
Furman and Radford have met twice in recent years, with the Highlanders winning the series inaugural, 73-61, during the 2021-22 season and the Paladins drawing even with a 75-67 overtime win in Timmons Arena the following year.
A trio of sophomores lead the Paladins through five games, led by 6-foot-1 forward
Clare Coyle, a preseason All-SoCon selection who is averaging 13.2 ppg and 7.4 rpg while shooting a solid 62.2 percent from the field. She is followed in double figures by 5-foot-10 guard
Raina McGowens (12.8 ppg, 5.4 rpg) and 5-foot-11 guard guard
Alyssa Ervin (12.0 ppg, 3.0 rpg), a Elon transfer.
Turnovers have been Furman's Achilles heel in early going, as the Paladins, who lost all five starters off last year's squad, have suffered 120 miscues (24.0/game).
The Paladins return home on Sunday to take on Clemson in a 2:00 p.m. contest at Timmons Arena.
