Five Paladins Compete At Bob Pollock Spring Invitational

CLEMSON, S.C. -- Five members of the Furman outdoor track and field teams competed at the Bob Pollock Spring Invitational Saturday in Clemson, S.C.  Junior Scott Des Marais led the Paladins with an eighth-place finish in the discus, posting a mark of 42.79 (140-05).

Sophomore James Perez finished ninth in the 800m with a personal-best time of 1:53.13, while freshman Tripp Hurt finished 21st in the event with a time of 2:00.05.  Junior Cortez Johnson tied for 16th in the 100m after posting a personal-best time of 10.54.

Freshman Sinead Haughey was the only member of the Paladin women's team to compete on Saturday, turning in a time of 4:46.67 for eleventh place in the 1,500m.

Furman will compete at the Georgia Tech Invitational May 11-12.
